专利说明:

The invention relates to an identification system, more particularly to an identification system for pigeon sport.
Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a conventional pigeon sport identification system 100 which comprises a ring 11 placed around a pigeon tab 90, a radio frequency identification device (RFID) 12 mounted on the ring 11 and a reading device for reading the identification information associated with the pigeon by RFID techniques. In current practice, the reading device 13 is installed in a dovecote. Therefore, when the pigeon returns to the dovecote, ideally, the reading device 13 reads the identification information from the RFID device 12 and records the result data indicating the date and time of receipt of the identification information. at the time of identification of the identity of the pigeon.
However, when the RFID device 12 is used in a humid environment or in an environment with metallic objects, the reading device 13 may fail to read the identification information in the RFID device 12 due to electromagnetic interference. In addition, an antenna of the RFID device 12 is easily damaged due to an impact. This is why the conventional identification system 100 can not guarantee the effective identification of the pigeon.
Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a pigeon sport identification system which can overcome the aforementioned disadvantage of the prior art.
According to the present invention, a pigeon sport identification system comprises: first and second rings adapted to be respectively placed around the legs of a pigeon; a radio frequency identification device mounted on the first ring and storing therein first identifying information associated with the pigeon; an auxiliary identification system mounted on the second ring and storing therein second identification information associated with the pigeon; a main reading device wirelessly communicating with the radio frequency identification device for reading the first identification information from the radio frequency identification device, the main reading device comparing the first identification information with the radio frequency identification device; first predetermined information, and recording therein the main result data indicating the date and time of receipt of the first identification information when the first identification information matches the first predetermined information; and an auxiliary reading device comprising a processing unit receiving the second identification information of the auxiliary identification device, comparing the second identification information with second predetermined information and generating auxiliary result data indicating the date and the time of receipt of the second identification information when the second identification information matches the second predetermined information; and a communication unit coupled to the processing unit for receiving the result data and adapted to wirelessly transmit the auxiliary result data to an external device.
Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings of which: Figure 1 is a schematic view showing a conventional pigeon sport identification system;
Fig. 2 is a schematic view showing the first preferred embodiment of a pigeon sport identification system according to the present invention;
Fig. 3 is a block diagram of the circuitry illustrating the first preferred embodiment, and
Fig. 4 is a block diagram of the circuitry illustrating the second preferred embodiment of a pigeon sport identification system according to the present invention.
Before describing the present invention in greater detail, it should be noted that similar elements are designated by the same reference numbers throughout the disclosure.
Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, it is shown that the first preferred embodiment of a pigeon sport identification system 200 according to the present invention comprises first and second rings 21, 22, an identification device according to the present invention. radio frequency (RFID) 31, an auxiliary identification device 32, a main reading device 40 and an auxiliary reading device 50.
The first and second rings 21, 22 are adapted to be respectively placed around the legs of a pigeon (not shown). In this embodiment, the first ring 21 is in the form of an endless ring and the second ring 22 can be swapped between a C-shaped ring state where opposite ends in the form of a toothed bolt and toothed groove 221, 222 of the second ring 22 are spaced from each other, as indicated by imaginary lines in Fig. 2, and an endless ring condition where the toothed bolt and toothed groove ends 221, 222 engage with each other. with each other.
The RFID device 31 is mounted on the first ring 21 and stores within it first identification information associated with the pigeon. The auxiliary identification device 32 is mounted on the second ring 22 and stores therein second identification information associated with the pigeon. In this embodiment, the auxiliary identification device 32 includes a storage unit 321 for storing the second identification information and an output port 322 coupled to the storage unit 321.
It should be noted that each of the first identification information and second identification information includes identity data such as an identification code and the age of the pigeon, and the code of the owner of the pigeon, and race data such as a race code and an encrypted code.
In this embodiment, the main reading device 40 comprises a reader 41, a storage unit 43 and a processing unit 42 coupled to the reader 41 and the storage unit 43. The reader 41 communicates wirelessly, for example RFID techniques, with the RFID device 31 for reading the first identification information from the RFID device 31. The processing unit 32 receives the first identification information read by the reader 41, compares the first identification information with the first predetermined information stored in the storage unit 43 and stores in the storage unit 43 the main result data indicating the date and time of receipt of the first identification information when the first identification information matches. with the first predetermined information.
In this embodiment, the auxiliary reading device 50 comprises an input port 51, a processing unit 52 and a communication unit 53. The input port 51 is coupled to the output port 322 of the identification device The processing unit 52 is coupled to the input port 51, reads the second identification information from the storage unit 321 of the auxiliary identification device 32 through the output port 322. of the auxiliary identification device 32 and the input port 51, compares the second identification information with the second predetermined information and generates auxiliary result data indicating the date and time of receipt of the second identification information when the second identification information matches the second predetermined information. The communication unit 53 is coupled to the processing unit 52 to receive the auxiliary result data and is adapted to communicate wirelessly, for example by GPRS, GSM, CDMA or WiMAX techniques, with an external device 80 such as than a race center. Further, the communication unit 53 can be used to obtain position data indicating a position where the auxiliary reading device 50 is arranged by GPS techniques and is adapted to transmit the position data together with the auxiliary result data. to the external device 80.
In such a configuration, if the primary reading device 40 fails to read the first identification information from the RFID device 31 for any reason, the auxiliary reading device 50 can obtain the auxiliary result data by an electrical connection between the output port 322 of the auxiliary identification device 32 and the input port 51. Therefore, the identification system 200 of this invention can guarantee the effective identification of the pigeon.
Figure 4 illustrates the second preferred embodiment of a pigeon sport identification system 200 'according to this invention, which is a modification of the first preferred embodiment.
In this embodiment, the auxiliary identification device 32 'is an RFID device. The auxiliary reading device 50 'comprises a reader 54 instead of the input port 51 of the first preferred embodiment. The reader 54 communicates with the auxiliary identification device 32 'by RFID techniques to read the first identification information from the auxiliary identification device 32' and is coupled to the processing unit 52.
